UPDATE! New photoset in members area!

Been a while coming but I'm off and running again!

Thursday 11th June 2009

Blimey... it's half way through the year already! I can't believe it. It's been a hectic year as you can probably tell from the lack of posts but I think I'm getting a handle on things now... yeah, right!

Took some new pics this week so they will be up shortly... and they will be closely followed by a video - Yay!

Friday Feb 27th 2009

This has been a tough time. It's been a long while since I last posted, and there is a reason for that. My 6 month old daughter had to have life saving heart surgery so we have spent A LOT of time at the hospital for the last few months. It has been difficult to say the least, and although I'm delighted to say that she is doing brilliantly now, I was a total mess throughout.

We are slowly getting back to normal now, and I'm happy to say that we are starting to take photos again. And we will soon have a new system in place for LIVE cam shows and other fun, as well as updating the site.

So thank you all for your patience... along with all the wonderfully supportive emails you have sent - it has really meant a lot to us. You guys ROCK. I'm really looking forward to getting back in the saddle (so to speak!) and am planning on starting a FREE site for some of my stuff soon... just my way of supporting our new president and helping boost morale, ha ha!

Journal Entry: Tuesday 26th August '08

SLEEP IS FOR PUSSIES...
That's what 'lil D seems to think anyway.

It would appear that I have grossly underestimated in the past how tired a person could possibly be... but thanks to this beautiful little hollering bundle of cuteness I am learning. I am now more well acquainted with those 4am info-mertials than I ever thought I would be - none of them sell anything that would get a wide awake two week old off to sleep though!

It is a constant source of amazement for me that so much noise, poo, sweetness and love can come from such a tiny little person. I still can't believe I made this little soul! She was inside me for so long, it seems weird to see her on the outside...every day she does something new that melts my heart and turns me into a wibbly mass of hormones. Well maybe not the 4am screechathon, but everything else is pretty awesome...

On a different subject - can you believe it's almost the end of summer already? I know that doesn't mean quite the same in TX as it does anywhere else ( stupid hot weather continues way longer here) but still... Cool weather is on the distant horizon... YAY!

JOURNAL UPDATE! Sorry for the delay...

I can't believe it finally happened, but Dorothy Rose came screaming into the world at 10.25 pm on August 9th, weighing in at a teeny tiny 5 lbs 10 oz
The whole day was very surreal... I opened my eyes on Saturday morning at about 7.15, and immediately my water broke - a very odd sensation, let me tell you!
Chris started running around like a blue arsed fly, and we arrived at the hospital in a fluster & panic. I had an epidural as soon as they would let me, and I must say, I would recommend those things to anyone! Chris and his mum helpfully pointed out my giant off-the-charts contractions on the monitor while I lay there in happy drowsy oblivion...awesome. After a couple of hours of fruitless and very tiring pushing, the docs decided a c-section would probably be the best move.

I must admit, I was totally terrified... even more so when I watched Chris horrified expression every time I felt a tug at my insides! But when I heard her hollering I knew she was fine, and when Chris held her up so I could see her my heart just melted... we both became bawling wrecks.
Being pretty small she had to be in an incubator for a few days, and be tube fed which freaked me out so badly...but we finally got to bring her home...
.....she is only 9 days old, but already she rules our house and our lives.

Thanks so much for your patience... give me a little time to get to grips with my new situation and I'll be back on track for updates! MUAH! xxxxxxx
