I can't believe it finally happened, but Dorothy Rose came screaming into the world at 10.25 pm on August 9th, weighing in at a teeny tiny 5 lbs 10 oz
The whole day was very surreal... I opened my eyes on Saturday morning at about 7.15, and immediately my water broke - a very odd sensation, let me tell you!
Chris started running around like a blue arsed fly, and we arrived at the hospital in a fluster & panic. I had an epidural as soon as they would let me, and I must say, I would recommend those things to anyone! Chris and his mum helpfully pointed out my giant off-the-charts contractions on the monitor while I lay there in happy drowsy oblivion...awesome. After a couple of hours of fruitless and very tiring pushing, the docs decided a c-section would probably be the best move.
I must admit, I was totally terrified... even more so when I watched Chris horrified expression every time I felt a tug at my insides! But when I heard her hollering I knew she was fine, and when Chris held her up so I could see her my heart just melted... we both became bawling wrecks.
Being pretty small she had to be in an incubator for a few days, and be tube fed which freaked me out so badly...but we finally got to bring her home...
.....she is only 9 days old, but already she rules our house and our lives.

Thanks so much for your patience... give me a little time to get to grips with my new situation and I'll be back on track for updates! MUAH! xxxxxxx
